Ever considered the liability on that? One medical director even feared that allowing live sticks would encourage students to try OTHER ALS interventions, “Next, they’ll all be giving each other nitroglycerin!”

This form <\/a>addresses BOTH issues. It provides a starting point and should NOT be construed as legal advice from a mere paramedic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It gives the student the ability to acknowledge and accept risk or opt not to participate at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, it reiterates the exact conditions under which practice is allowed. Therefore, wait and have students fill it out on the FIRST DAY YOU DO LIVE STICKS. This ensures the message is not lost in the firehose of the first week of paramedic school.<\/p>\n\n\n
